I discovered that he home was not built to the approved designs and does not meet the minimum requirements of the code. I have brought these problems to the attention of the building official (Mrs Hopkins) and she has put a stop work order on the home but is refusing to issue the notices of violation and orders for abatement as required by the code to have the builder fix the defects. She referred my to the county Attourney Mr Frampton who indicated I would have to hire a lawyer to resolve these issues. I am not interested in an adversarial resolution to this problem, I prefer and have requested that my problems be passed on to the board of appeals which I am told does not actually exist in Dorchester county despite being a requirement of the code. Is this something your office can help me resolve? Or is their a state agency overseeing construction that can help me resolve this without having to resort to lawyers to resolve what is really a very clear case of defective construction? Thank you for your time. 199.87.0.22
