COLUMBIA, S.C. - The South Carolina Senate
confirmed Samuel B. Glover as the director of the state Department
of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services on Thursday.
Glover was director of the South Carolina Army National Guard
Youth Challenge Academy before his appointment to the state agency
by Gov. Mark Sanford.
Sanford said Glover was the perfect fit for Probation, Parole and
Pardon Services because he would run the department like a business
and keep "an eye on the taxpayers' bottom line."
Glover, who's owned several businesses, has also served on the
board of South Carolina State University and as an interim pastor at
Gill Creek Baptist
Church. |
