Dear friend,

Thank you for taking the time to write into the Governor's Office to express your concerns about the Ebola virus. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) is tasked with public health initiatives and prevention. Working on prevention is a key to containing such a virus. Accordingly, SCDHEC is taking preventative efforts and requesting additional assistance with regards to this matter. Education is also an important component to preventing the spread of such a virus, so SCDHEC is educating hospitals, frontline staff, and members of the general public about the disease. SCDHEC Director Catherine Templeton has spoken publicly about these issues. You can read the article here: http://goo.gl/nlWfap.  Furthermore, she is set to address the South Carolina Senate Medical Affairs Committee today at 2:30 PM, Gressette Building Room 308, Columbia, S.C. about the disease. You can watch a live broadcast here: http://goo.gl/R6LJ7q.  If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Hal Peters
