ANNUAL AG EXPO
COLUMBIA---Mark your calendars for the seventh annual South Carolina Ag EXPO to be held in Columbia on January 22 – 23, 2002 at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center. The Ag EXPO gives row crop farmers and other agricultural representatives an opportunity to gather together and exchange information pertaining to the upcoming crop year. Experts from Clemson University and institutions will present their recommendations for the soybean, cotton, wheat, corn, tobacco and peanut crops. In addition, agricultural economists will present the economic outlook session for the upcoming year.
“Ag EXPO is an excellent chance for farmers to get a head start on their crops for the year,” said M.D Floyd, farmer and president of the South Carolina Soybean Association. In addition to educational sessions, farmers will have an opportunity to visit the agricultural trade show as part of the Ag EXPO. Vendors from various sectors of agriculture will be on hand to visit with farmers.
“The trade show gives us a chance to visit with representatives about their products and services that may benefit our operation,” commented Floyd.
Registration for the Ag EXPO is $35 prior to January 18 or $50 on-site. For more information about the Ag EXPO and/or trade show, please contact Margaret Owens, Ag EXPO coordinator at 803-734-1767.
