Haley: I lived in South Carolina for nearly 40 years before I retired from USC Beaufort. The best thing you can do for your State and your people in the aftermath of the Charleston shooting is to campaign for removing the Confederate Flag from State House grounds. That, more than seeking the death penalty for an obviously disturbed young man, would send a clear message of closure and uniting to citizens in the State and around the country.
