We are long overdue for getting rid of the confederate flag.  The suggestion to put it in a museum is much too kind - burned or buried would be more appropriate.

While you're at it, what about mandatory background checks for all guns at all points of sale, something that 90% of Americans want?  And just for fun, let's remove the words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance - it was not in the original, and for many years we did just fine without it.  The author's own daughter objected to this insertion, but religious conservatives have no shame.

What we need in this country is science and secular humanism - two things that really do make the world a better place to live.
