Nikki,   I am an independent.. lean more to the left.    I posted this to my FB page today, and wanted to share it with you.  Any Republican that would bash you for some of your comments in your response to the State of the Union address is sure missing the boat.   You did your job to comment negatively on the president's speech, I suppose.. but you went further.   I so admire you for that.. 

My Post:
Truthfully, I was dreading hearing the response to the State of the Union Address...  Our governor was chosen to give it.   She has not been my favorite person over the years.   

She is taking a beating from her party right now for some of the things she said, which happen to be the very things that impressed me.

"We need to be honest with each other, and with ourselves: while Democrats in Washington bear much responsibility for the problems facing America today, they do not bear it alone. There is more than enough blame to go around.
We as Republicans need to own that truth. We need to recognize our contributions to the erosion of the public trust in America's leadership. We need to accept that we've played a role in how and why our government is broken.
And then we need to fix it." Nikki Haley.

And then she said this:
"Today, we live in a time of threats like few others in recent memory. During anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices. We must resist that temptation." - Nikki Haley

A lot of the rest of her speech was expected jabs at our President..   but still...  She said two things that impressed me coming from her.   Being truthful can make enemies Nikki...  but it also restores self respect, and respect from others.
