As a proud member in good-standing of IBEW Local 1753, I was appalled by what I heard. The comments you made were not only appalling, but very unbecoming of someone holding the title of "Governor". As you may have noticed, my greeting is "Ms. Haley". The reason I chose that greeting is because I'll never refer to you as my Governor again and I'm ashamed to admit my vote helped you gain that office. Anyone truly listening to the way you speak of Unions, will ask themselves how you can feel the way you do about Unions throughout the state that you represent. I seriously doubt I need to remind you of the Postal Worker, UPS, Communications, Transit, Railroad, Firefighter, Teamsters, Longshoremen and Air Traffic Control Unions...among MANY others who provide you with the benefits and services you enjoy every day. Not to mention my Union Brothers and Sisters that restored power after the ice storm. As you also know, it's a fact that "the more you make, the more you spend". I can assure you that since my employment, and subsequent membership in the IBEW, I've made the money necessary that allows me to put revenue back into the local economy at a rate that I haven't been able to achieve until now. Not to mention the numerous other benefits the Union has helped secure. I realize this is falling on deaf ears, but never-the-less, I felt compelled to voice my opinion. It has become apparent to me that your views and opinions on this matter are out of line with mine. With that being said, I promise to put as much effort in discouraging anyone from casting a vote your way, as you do discouraging Union companies from bringing jobs to this great state.
