I am pursuing my Masters degree in nursing and am currently working on a paper addressing issues people face that hinder them from receiving needed healthcare. In our area, there is a large portion of people working lower income jobs who then make enough to disqualify them from government assistance, but in no way affords them the luxury to purchase private insurance. So many times I've heard them state they would be better off not working so they could have healthcare provided. I have looked without much results on opportunities available to these people who are trying to help themselves. What assistance is available to this group of people, and what are your thoughts on ways we can better assist them? Thanks so much for your time and your service to our state.
