Gov. Nikki Haley, Please take the time to read Amber Phillips' article in the Washington Post entitled, "Democrats in Real Danger of Becoming Extinct in the South." Below is my response to Amber's article, especially as pertains to your particular role in preserving and teaching history and the TRUTH of history to our young people: South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Senators Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott, Congressman Jim Clyburn (an Obama toady and Clinton sycophant), and my own Congressman Tom Rice need to look at this map before they continue on their course to demolish and eradicate the symbols, monuments, names and institutions that are an integral, undeniable, and in my opinion indispensable part of the South and its history, the proud part and the not-so-proud part. Removing a Confederate flag from the capitol grounds in Columbia, SC, taking down a 64-foot statue of Robert E. Lee in New Orleans (a beautiful sculpture of a great man and tremendous general who nobly served his country before, during, and after the Civil War), taking down monuments of great, talented, spiritual men such as Stonewall Jackson is an absolute travesty, which Nikki Haley defends on the grounds that the flag is a symbol of the past, not the future, and a symbol of something utterly evil and ugly. I have emphasized repeatedly that one can associate the American flag with many evil and ugly atrocities such as the Trail of Tears and the merciless pursuit of Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce Indians, as well as innumerable broken treaties. This is called HISTORY, and it is unchangeable unless someone like Nikki Haley or Tim Scott or Tom Rice prefer to rewrite history and purge those parts they find objectionable, which is total foolishness. Purging history is what someone like Stalin or any other tyrant would do. Give me a United States history book and tell me what parts of our history you, Governor Haley, and you, Congressman Rice, would like to omit or alter. Teach it ALL, SHOW AND REVEAL IT ALL, the good, the bad, and the ugly. What is good to one person may be evil to another person. We can change our outlook toward each other as American citizens and we can try to show more empathy toward one another and be more united, but the Democrats THRIVE and SURVIVE on divisiveness between male and female, gay and straight, poor and wealthy, black and white and Latino, Christian and Muslim and Jew and atheist. This is their strategy and their game. Obama is their team leader, coach, and mentor in this process, a man who promised (but lied) that he was going to unite the country and promote racial harmony.
