Would you lead your state legislature in addressing this most important issue, assign this task to your senators, and join with fellow governors to make a change? I suggest something as the following: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside" EXCEPT those born to parents who are illegally in the country or to parents who are visiting the United States. These newborns are citizens of their parents' country. IF the parents of the newborn have applied for U.S. citizenship then the 14th Amendment applies.
