A couple years ago in mid contract SCPRT took over the North Augusta Welcome Center from SCDOT. The SCDOT contract was agreed upon by SCDOT and SCPRT to stay in place until the property went out for bid again (which will be July 2016 this year). It seems SCPRT is fussing with SCDOT for more money to operate the Welcome Center. This, however, is causing a great amount of aggravation to us, the lawn maintenance contractor. Jim Newman the Design Engineer for SC State Park Service of the SC Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism has become overbearing and is now threatening our pay, as referenced by him as "keep the $ flowing". I was one of the contractors that went over 3 months a few years back with no pay because of shenanigans in the SCDOT world. I prefer not to be in the middle of more shenanigans between SCDOT and SCPRT. My time with North Augusta Welcome Center ends on July 28th this year and I would really like to just get through it. I will not bid on anything that is controlled by SCPRT in the future!!
