Flooded businesses are not the only ones being effected by the floods.  I have talked to numerous small businesses in the area since the storm - checking on them after the flooding in Lexington.  All that had no damage said the same thing... However the damage is - No Business coming in.  We are experiencing the same aftermath of 911 when people "shut down" making purchases. WE do realize that people are making donations and volunteering and assisting with the clean up, feeding people and so many things.  This is not intended to be a selfish plea but one that will impact the state as well in the economic well being. 
   We depend on sales in order to keep our employees working and the doors open.  Please relay to Nikki ( she knows me personally) that we would so much be grateful for her to make the community aware( possibly in her televised updates) that everyday life does go on. Don't stop living life and shopping from your local businesses.  My store has already had a $5200.00 non business that we normally have.  Myself and others are having to cut hours of employees due to the lack of income. Just as it was stated after 911 by President Bush and other great leaders -  Go and spend money in your local area businesses, do not let this devastation grow to a greater amount of loss and business closures.
