There are too many lives lost.  I don't care if a shooter is "mentally ill" or just plain morally ill:  we MUST reduce the access to guns in this country.  The founders meant to ensure a "well-regulated militia."  We have those:  a fine National Guard, and the most highly-trained military in the world.  

This is not about that... it's about our elected officials (that's YOU) and your cowardice and fear of standing up to the big money gun interests, and to the paranoid far right wing who hate the very government that YOU comprise in your position as Governor.

I do not oppose letting hunters or target shooters or collectors own guns:  JUST REGULATE THEM just like a driver's license.  Background check. Enforce the laws we have and enable law enforcement to actually do their jobs by fully funding high-tech, interconnected data bases to allow tracking of sales and ownership.  Allow  and fund research on the public health aspects of gun safety, and on means of better ensuring that guns are operated safely and not by those for whose hands they are not meant.  The numbers of children who die EACH DAY because of the stupidity of those who just don't make the efforts to secure their deadly weapons is a national disgrace.  Other countries protect their children:  why can't we?  

You ran for office to be a leader. True leaders should do the right thing, even when it is the hard thing.  All I hear from your quarter is  "well, can't do one little thing to try to improve gun safety, or our whole 2nd amendment falls to pieces."  If you and your colleagues in the Legislature don't act, you have as much blood on your hands as these killers.... these DAILY killers.
