Here's a recipe handed down from my mother, Mrs. Betty Hovis Hodges

MARSHMALLOW BROWNIES

1 stick margarine

2 one-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate (or cocoa, 3-4 Tbsp. mixed with melted margarine)

3/4 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

3/4 tsp. salt

3 eggs

1 c. sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 c. nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degree. Melt the margarine and chocolate and set aside. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt. Add the eggs to the flour mixture, mixing well. Add the melted mixture and mix well. Add the sugar, vanilla, and nuts. Use large broiler-type pan and spread thinly. Bake at 350 about 10 to 12 minutes or less. After brownies are baked, and right out of the oven, spread marshmallows cut in halves or use mini-marshmallows. When a bit cool, spread with a chocolate confectioner's sugar frosting and cut into squares when cooled.
