COLUMBIA, S.C. - Anyone pleading guilty or
being convicted of a second drunken driving offense wouldn't be able
to register or license cars or boats, under a bill that cleared the
Senate on Thursday.
On the second offense of operating a vehicle under the influence
of drugs or alcohol, the penalty is in force for 30 days. Subsequent
offenses would increase the penalty to two years.
It would cost $40 to reinstate registrations after the penalty
period. |
