I would like to extent a thanks for your support of the local government fund. As you know, ACT 388 was sold as a means to contain and limit property taxes at the local level with the guarantee that the state would allocate funds through the local government fund. Since that time there has been a push to reduce and/or eliminate the state local government fund. Small rural counties as Abbeville can not continue to offer services (EMS, Sheriff, E-911, Health Dept.) to its citizens unless either we have the ability to raise millage or receive the allocation of local government fund.
Again thank you for stepping out in support of local government fund and the services we provide to the citizens of Abbeville County.
