Hello Gov. Nikki Haley,
I am hosting the Chiles / Childs Family Reunion this year in Va. Beach, VA.  My family and ancestors are from Abbeville , SC.  I have traced Anderson Chiles back to before 1860 and slavery.
The slave owner was John Chiles who's relative, James 'Jim Crow' Chiles started the Black Law &amp the KKK.  My family survived! One of our family members is a SC State Senator D. Jackson who just got re-elected and Edith Chiles who was recognized at an address at the White House.
The family theme is, '...Quiet Strength, Exceptionally Favored' we are using a picture of the Angel Oak Tree on John's Island as a symbol of family unity.
Some of the family lived on the Promiseland  near Abbeville and later in Arthurtown off Bluff Road.  They were members of Brown Chapel AME Church which is over 100 years old.
Please consider a letter for us.  The Family Reunion is August 12-14, 2016 at the Ocean front in Va. Beach VA where I currently live with my US Navy retired husband.  Please let me know soon if this can be done. By the way, I graduated from Dreher High School in 1976.  My father was MIA in Vietnam in 1972 when I was a student at Hand Jr. High School.
