(Columbia)—Lieutenant Governor Bob Peeler and Speaker of the House David Wilkins ratified two constitutional amendments which could dramatically cut car taxes in South Carolina. Currently, South Carolinians pay the second highest car taxes in the nation.
“This is a great day for taxpayers in South Carolina, at long last they will have the car tax relief they deserve,” Peeler said. “The road to car tax relief has been bumpy at times, but last fall, voters sent the General Assembly a clear message to cut car taxes. Today, I am honored to ratify these two car tax amendments referendums into law.”
