(Columbia) -- Governor David M. Beasley will deliver his annual State of the State address on Wednesday, an address that will for the first time be carried live on the Internet.
"I'm glad that through the resources of South Carolina Educational Television, anyone with a computer and a modem can have the chance to watch the State of the State speech," Governor Beasley said today. "This event highlights the importance I place on South Carolina's technological resources, and I thank SCETV for making it possible."
Those wishing to watch the speech on the Internet can click on the Governor's home page (www.state.sc.us/db) or SCETV's home page (www.scetv.org). Both will offer easy access to the speech, which begins at 7 p.m.
The following is an advisory for news organizations covering the speech:
11 a.m.: The Governor will brief reporters about the speech. As is customary, the speech's contents and the Governor's comments are strictly embargoed until after the speech is delivered. No cameras or radio recorders are allowed in this briefing, which will take place in the Governor's Office conference room.
7 p.m.: The Governor delivers his address at the Koger Center
for the Performing Arts before a joint session of the General Assembly,
state officials and other invited guests. Those covering the speech

wishing to attend the speech should sit in seats 2 - 20 of Row "P" on the
right side as you face the stage. A small, enclosed area at the back
of the first level can also accommodate a few reporters. Television
cameras will not be allowed inside the hall, but the speech will be broadcast
live on South Carolina ETV and two television monitors will be in the hall
in case of an overflow crowd. Also, those planning to park near the Koger
