It was good to talk to you both the other day. As we discussed, the 15th Cir. Solicitor's Office verified that they are trying to schedule a meeting right now. It is a bit more of a complicated process because they are coordinating schedules between the Solicitor, Duffie Stone, Deputy Solictor Sean Thornton, Assistance Solicitor Brian Hollen and the defense attorney, Jack Swerling (who will be traveling to the 15th Circuit from Columbia) for meetings on other cases as well. They will be discussing whether the case will be handled via a plea agreement or a trial. When your advocate, April, knows the date of that meeting she will alert you.
We also discussed the possibility of you looking into civil remedies with regard to this case. You can find attorneys through the SC Bar Lawyer Referral Service (1-800-868-2284) or you could call attorney Scott Kegel in Charleston at (843) 723-1005. His website is https://www.scottkegellawoffices.com/. Of course, you are free to consult any other personal injury attorney. I know that Scott has experience with helping with civil issues arising out of criminal conduct, so he would be a good place to start.
Feel free to give me a call should you need anything. I hope you have a good weekend.
