Thank you for your email. The South Carolina Department of Transportation maintains all state maintained roads. The SCDOT has a program that we manage, Adopt A Highway, in which citizens adopt a road for litter pickup. I have contacted the representative for Spartanburg County to ensure that Highway 80 is on the list for potential volunteers. The SCDOT does not have a routine program for litter pickup except on the Interstates. We do perform a Spring and Fall clean in which a week is declared for maintenance forces to pick up litter. I have placed this road on the Spring Clean this year.
If you would like additional information on the Adopt A Highway program please contact Jessica Yeager at 864-241-1010 or you can contact me.
Dear Governor Haley, The main road to the inland port is covered in litter. This is the town of Greer
SC. Hwy 80 which connects to Hwy 29 and 14. As our Governor I know that you are proud of our inland port, but the litter speaks poorly of our state. Also Hwy 29 from Hwy 80 to Lyman is covered as well in excessive litter. If you could please contact who is responsible to clean up this
trash so SC is a state we can be proud to call home. Thank you for all your great work as our Governor. This litter as been there for at least 6 months.
Thank you!
