My father died last spring at the hands of his wife. There's not enough evidence to arrest her. The police had been out to their home several times. I believe if there had been tougher laws and better police training in domestic violence. My father would be here today. I my self was in a very abusive relationship for 15years. The irmo police were called to our home in October 2013. I told the police everything. Yes I did wrong I had a affair but it still was not ok for him to slam my face on the counter and try and beak my arm. He told police I bite him. It was not me it was our dog a great Dane st Bernard  mix. They could easily tell but still said I shouldn't have proved him and said I could be charged with cdv for the bite.my broken tooth did not matter cause it was not visible. All that happened he was told to leave. In Dec he won custody of our children regardless he drinks and is verbally abusive to them.for the last yr and half I have lived in fear of him. He Has told people I was on drugs. When he has found me he has stalked me thrwn things at me. In July of 2014 he gave me my daughter after I heard rumors about him looking at her sexually. He also had not taken care of our oldest son with a health condition. I called child service in June several times told a police chief no one would listen. My home was broken into and I called the police of Cayce. The only thing missing was evidence against him. I told the police neighbor described the person who broke in. Police didn't do anything. My ex always told me he could kill me and no one would care. He could make up lies and no one would listen. He could take my kids and no one would help me. Now that he has a girlfriend who works for Richland county police and corn or office he has made more threats. In June she even warned me of my safety and that he had been inappropriate to our daughter. I had a lawyer me biddwell Moore who just took my money and did not help. So this week I face court again scared and affraid but stronger because in the end hhe can't control me. So I thank you that if ever my children are involved in domestic violence that the law will be better. There will be better help out there.
