MESSAGE SENT ON FEBRUARY 21, 2014:
In past years, Governor Haley has proclaimed March 16 as LIBERTY DAY, in commemoration of the anniversary of the birth of James Madison, “Father of the Constitution.” This year marks the 263rd anniversary.
On behalf of the Liberty Day Kids from Sandy Run School, will you please ask Governor Haley to proclaim March 16, 2014, as the 263rd anniversary of the birth of James Madison? The Liberty Day Kids’ (four students and four adults) visit to the State House is March 26. They have a 12N State House tour.
The proclamation will be presented to them on the 26th. FYI - I plan to check with Ms. Priester about Governor Haley’s schedule. If Governor Haley is in the State House on the 26th, the students and accompanying adults would be honored if the governor could present the proclamation.
Please have the proclamation delivered to my office – 306 Blatt Building.
