The South Carolina Department of Transportation wants to make sure interstates get top priority when it comes to ploughing and sanding.
There was no shortage of motorists spinning their wheeles on the interstates, since many were fooled by the black ice hiding on what looked like clear roads.
But when it comes to primary and secondary roads, authorities say it may take until at least tomorrow afternoon -- depending entirely upon the weather -- to get the ploughs in those areas.
The main message from DOT today was, if you don't absolutely have to travel on the icey roads, stay at home.
DOT also warns the public to travel on the dirty stuff, where there's the most traction, and to stay off the white lanes, which are mostly ice and not snow.
