I am a 30 year old father of a 3 year old boy. I am concerned for my family`s future as South Carolinian`s and also for our states past that was once a great heritage but is now being attacked for standing for their rights and independance. I want my son to be able to learn from all of his past and be proud of where he came from, not to grow up thinking that his heritage was based on racism. If we let this flag and other monuments fall to fellow citizens that are uneducated to the matter it will only create more misunderstanding of each others cultures. The recent massacre in Charleston is tragic and sad and as a christian I mourn for my brothers and sisters but I dont want to see the blame placed on an object of our states heritage when the murderer that commited this sick crime deserves it all to be placed on him. By letting this flag fall like this I'm afriad it will only break our great state apart not unite it. Please I ask you stand up for our heritage that our past veterans fought for and so many died, dont let their descendants and future generations think they died in vain..let the people speak for thier rights.
