I was in my twenties when this happened and I am 45 years old now, but I have not forgotten the night a man woke me up with his hand over my mouth and took off my shorts and raped me as I begged for him not to kill me. I had small children who thank God were not at home that night. He asked me to stay on the bed and not move until after the door closed and he told me to count. Now keep in mind this happened to several other females in that area. The Spartanburg County sheriff's office has his DNA but no suspect. I spoke to a Spartanburg County detective on 02/08/2015 and he told me that the TV show cold case would be airing a reenactment of this horrible tragedy to try to jog someone's memory so that they may come up with someone that has some information. At this time all they know is it was a black male due to the DNA. It was brought to my attention that a state law was passed that anyone that serves over one year incarcerated must submit to a DNA test, and it was also said that if someone that is required to serve more than one year on probation for a felony they are also required to submit to a DNA. I understand that due to funding by the state this is NOT being done. This is very disappointing to know because if this were being done there could be a seral rapist behind bars. Mrs. Haley, I understand you are a mother and a wife and if you can imagine what these young teenage girls' mothers went through after their daughters had told them they had been raped. I know you could see how you would feel if this happened to you and then having a detective tell you this case may could have already been solved, but due to the states lack of funding and not following a law that was put in place. I understand you have a lot on your plate, but from one women to another, and I am sure I can speak on behalf of all the victims, we need your help to inforce this law so that we may bring this seral rapist to justice. Sincerely, Michelle Rider
