Columbia, S. C. - Governor Jim Hodges on Thursday was joined by South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director John Durst to proclaim November as South Carolina Travel and Tourism Month.
"During this month, I want South Carolinians to visit our coast, travel to our mountains and tour our state's numerous parks and historical landmarks," Hodges said. "Every town or city we visit and every dollar we spend helps our state's economy."
The Governor will remind South Carolinians about his November instate tourism initiative with a series of public service announcements that will be aired throughout November.
Additionally, PRT today announced free admission to all South Carolina state parks November 10-12. This free weekend coincides with a no admission weekend at all national parks.
