State Officials: S.C.

South Carolina leaders and emergency
officials say weeks worth of preparations have gotten them ready
to deal with the threat of terrorism in response to military strikes
that started Wednesday night on Iraq.
Spokesman Will Folks
says Governor Mark Sanford was aware of the strikes, but did not
plan to take any action unless federal officials raised the national
threat level to its highest point.
Spokesman Thom Berry says
the state Department of Health and Environmental Control is doing
nothing above and beyond what they have already done. Berry says
health officials have spoken to doctors at hospitals across the
state, telling them what symptoms to look out for in case of a
bioterrorism attack.
