We spoke on the phone at that time, and I was encouraged by her compassion, which is what is leading me to this message now. As a previous small business owner, I know that the governor understands the plight that many small business owners are in after the flood. My father, Richard Brewer, owns Elite Tool and Design, which was filled with 5.5 feet of water on October 3rd. After contacting FEMA, we found out that the only federal "aid" we would be offered would be loans- debt against our debt. As the governor must well know, not supporting the rebuilding of local businesses will decrease our local job market and our locally generated income. Surely there is something that can be done, surely there is hope for my family. Thank you.
