Governor Haley: My name is Kacy Denton and I work for PART Inc in Clover, SC. My dad, brother and I have owned the building we have worked in since April 2000, we sold the building last January 2015 and when the Property Tax assessment came back to the new owner it went up from $36,000 to $42,000. $36,000 is already thievery and $42,000 is even more of a slap in the face. The new owner of our building will have to charge us higher lease because you can't stop sticking it to small businesses. Our business is in manufacturing and we can't take anymore costs, we have automated different lines in our plant as well as cutting back everything we spend. We are as lean as we can get yet government keeps spending and hurting small businesses. WAKE UP!!! WE WILL CONTINUE TO LOSE BUSINESS AND JOBS IN AMERICA BECAUSE OUR GOV'T CAN'T GET THEIR HOUSE IN ORDER!!! PS. Please don't call or email telling me to appeal the property tax hike, it is the stupid law put into place back in 2007, you guys reverse the stinking law! Do you think all the new schools, Post Offices, Fire Stations, Police Stations will make things better...does our education system get better the more money we spend, etc...How many fires do the firemen fight at companies???
