I'm a 4 year veteran with 3 deployments to Afghanistan, I have a concealed carry permit, however, I am unable to defend myself while on campus. When I was fighting for the United States overseas, I had to carry everyday, not because of choice, because I was ordered to. Now that I am back home in the United States, I am not afforded that same ability to defend myself. Why is this, because I'm no longer pursuing government interests? College Campuses are huge targets for terrorist, domestic and foreign. There are limited number of armed security on campus, in the library (a rather large target) there are none. I believe that as a South Carolina resident, with a legitimate Concealed Carry Permit, I should be able to carry on campus. There have been shootings in Charleston already, and its only a matter of time before one happens again. I would like to be able to defend myself and those around me rather than become a victim and follow the trend. Regards, Grant Pensa
