We understand that the Legislature has enacted law requiring that the flag be removed from the state capitol.  

Governor Haley, we understand and support this position.  We do ask that you follow respectful policies in placing this historical artifact in appropriate areas such as museums, etc.  We respect the individuals who fought under this flag, as well as respect the fact that our country fought a great war to free people who were enslaved unjustly.  But the military valor associated with the flag deserves treatment that does not offend the descendants of those who fought.  Please keep this in mind.  Thank you.
