I am writing this e-mail to you because I am concerned about the upcoming ACT Aspire testing that my child is scheduled to take next month. 

I am alarmed by the ever mounting pressure, frustration and anxiety my child is experiencing as a result of being prepared for this test.  So, in effort to see what my child is up against, I reviewed available sample ACT Aspire type questions.  And I am quite disturbed by what I saw.

The level of difficulty of the sample questions as well as the wording of these questions are inappropriate and confusing for the grade level.  And the timing allotted for the assessments are also grade level inappropriate. 

Taking the scope of viewpoint out wider, these common-core alligned inappropriate tests are putting way too much pressure on our state's children at an age when engendering a love of learning is crucial.  And the pressures on the educators to implement these tests are also unfortunately being passed on to our children.  Teachers are spending too much time teaching to the test instead of for real comprehension.  There is real danger to the future of Education and most importantly the future of out state's children under this common core alligned model. 

As your constituent I respectfully request that you tell me what is being done to address this.
