Cropping Systems Field Day to be held at Pee Dee REC
FLORENCE -- The fourth annual Cropping Systems Field Day will be held at the Pee Dee Research and Education Center on Sept. 13.
Admission is free. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Special tours to observe the latest research in cotton and soybean production will begin at 8 a.m. and will be repeated 45 minutes later, according to Ben Kittrell, director of the Pee Dee REC.
"Tours will allow visitors to see hands-on research, and scientists will be on hand to answer questions ranging from insect control to hail damage," said Kittrell.
Lunch will be served at noon, and it will be followed by presentations from Clemson scientists. Topics will include the new farm bill, conservation tillage, risk management strategies and new enterprises for growers.
The Pee Dee REC is at 2200 Pocket Road. Take the TV Road exit off Interstate 95 and turn left to Pocket Road.
