My family came in at Charleston in the 1700's and settled in Lexington County (Sax Gotha). We had many family members that stood and died for the state of South Carolina and we were able to go to the state house without charge to see our flag. We do not want to pay to get into the museum and then have to pay to see the Confederate flag in the Relic room. My heart is literally broken to see my family members and southern heritage dishonored in such a way. I went to the State House on Thursday and knelt and prayed at the flag pole for revival for our state and I also honored the Confederate flag and the ones that stood for state's rights and fought to protect their small farms in the backcountry. I left one single red rose and it was still there on Friday when the flag was taken down. I am proud to be from the south which is the Bible Belt. There is no place in the U.S. that believes the way southerners believe. We do not believe in abortions, sodomite marriages, and we believe that God is a part of every facet of life. I have not met the first person in the area that I reside or in Lexington County that wanted the flag to be removed. We are very proud to be from Dixie and we will continue to wave our Confederate flag high along with the present day state flag!
