U.S. House Primary Results for S.C.
(Greenville-AP) -- On Tuesday, perennial candidate Gary McLeod of Manning defeated newcomer Mike Reino of Florence in the Republican
primary for the Sixth District of the U.S. House.
Now McLeod faces incumbent Democratic U.S. Representative Jim Clyburn in November.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, McLeod had 79 percent of the vote compared with Reino's had 21 percent. McLeod also is running as a Libertarian and Constitution Party candidate, hoping to blend those votes to unseat the incumbent. The Sixth District mostly covers the Pee Dee.

In other Congressional races that will be decided in November, incumbent U.S. Representative Joe Wilson faces Republican Michael Ray Ellisor and Constitution Party candidate Steve Lefemine for the Second District U.S. House seat. In the Third District, incumbent U.S. Representative Gresham Barrett does not face any opposition. In the Fifth District, U.S. Representative and Democrat
John Spratt will face Republican Albert Spencer.
