Earle E. Morris Jr., former lieutenant governor, violated the terms of his bail when he refinanced a mortgage on his home, Judge James Johnson ruled Tuesday.
But Johnson said he will not revoke bail over the half-million-dollar home loan Morris obtained.
Morris, former chairman of failed Upstate firm Carolina Investors, is free on bail while appealing his 2004 conviction on securities fraud.
Johnson said in his ruling that Morris is required to submit a list of all his assets and in the future must seek permission if he intends to sell property.
