Richland Creek Antique and Power Association Fall Festival

WARD, SC---For the 7th year, the Richland Creek Antique Power Association will hold its annual antique fall festival on November 1-3, 2002, at Richland Creek Farms, 542 Richland Creek Rd. in Saluda, SC.

The Richland Creek Antique Power Association has about 35 members in South Carolina and its sister states of Georgia and North Carolina. The objective of the organization is "to keep alive the memory of the way things were back before electricity made it out in the rural areas of our great state," according to Allen E. Duncan association member from West Columbia.

Activities scheduled for the festival incude: an antique tractor pull, wagon rides, kids pedal tractor race, slow tractor race, and a border collie dog demonstration. Also scheduled will be syrup cooking, a blacksmith’s shop, and swap meet. Participants will have the opportunity to see first-hand antique engines, a thrashing machine, planer, antique cars and trucks, a saw mill and big engine with teams of horses, hay baler, and shingle mill. Food and camping hookups will be available, and an historical battle re-enactment will also be held on Sunday.
