Two years ago, I lost my job due to a stupid mistake on my part and was charged with Breach of Trust. I was unable to cope with various loss of close family members that I took care of, finding out that both my husband who is disabled and son had brain tumors. My son was diagnosed with 2 which was located at the brainstem and it was a life or death situation. Due to all the stress from medical issues, deaths and working, it was too much for me to take at the time. I did not have any support system in place and did not have any family members I could turn to. With that being known, I took money from the company that I worked for. I approached them about me taking the money, as the guilt was getting to much to bear. Since then, I have learned to forgive myself, returned to church, am in charge of the Hospitality committee with church, taken classes at Midlands Tech, and have a church support group in place when I need someone. I paid the restitution off in 10 months, and was release from probation four months before the early release, something that is rarely done according to my Probation Officer. I have never been in trouble with the law, am a registered voter and a Licensed Notary. I am not bad person, just a human that made a stupid mistake during a very bad time in life. I need a job in order to provide for my family. We do not qualify for food stamps, unemployment ran out in May 2014, we have sold everything we can in order to survive. We are trying to survive on $200 per month after my husbands disability check pays for bills and his medicine, for a family of 4. I was denied Pardon today, Nov 18, 2014. Without a pardon, no one will give me a chance. Am I truly sorry for what I did? Words can not describe how sorry. More like ashamed and embarrassed of my behavior. I need a Pardon in order to get a job so I can provide for my family. I was told that I would have to wait for another year to got a chance at a Pardon Hearing. Please let me know what you can do. Thank you for your time, Joyce Amick
