As you know, we were evacuated from Hilton Head Island on October 5th 2016. Oliver Cusson, an employee with Kroger, was completing his 12th week of working at least 40 hrs to obtain full time status with Kroger. The store was closed as of 3pm on that Wednesday. We evacuated as instructed and returned to Bluffton on Monday in which Oliver Cusson helped to open the store in Bluffton after the Hurricane. He was told by management that he would receive his full time status since the stores were closed during the Hurricane. It has now been nearly 2 months and Kroger has not and does not plan to honor their promise. Oliver Cusson will now need start over to obtain full time status (another 12 weeks) due to an event that was totally out of his control. If there is anyway you can help us or direct us to the appropriate agency it would be very much appreciated. It is very disappointing that Mr. Cusson has been penalized for following evacuation orders. He was only 3 days away from completing the 12 week requirement.
