Susanne, This correspondence is a follow up to the Mrs. Bagwell complaint. Lt. Ron Talbert with the SCDNR Law Enforcement Division met with Ms. Bagwell this week to discuss the issues related to her complaint
letter. Lt. Talbert explained to Mrs. Bagwell that on the night of the incident, our DNR officer was contacted by the Laurens County Sheriff’s deputy and was told that there was no boat or subject in the area by the time the deputy arrived and that there
was no reason for DNR to respond since there was effectively nothing that could be done. Lt. Talbert spoke at length with Mrs. Bagwell regarding the incident as well as other issues she was concerned with. When he was done explaining the circumstances surrounding
the night of the incident Mrs. Bagwell understood why it was handled the way it was. DNR has advised Mrs. Bagwell that when the lake levels rise in the spring we will have a presence in the area of the lake where Mrs. Bagwell lives. The presence of DNR law
enforcement on the public waters of the state, including Lake Greenwood, has a deterrent effect and has proven in the past to help keep various unlawful activities at bay.
If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Captain Mike Sabaka
Director of Legislative Services

Major: The new set-up on my computer sent this email to my Clutter box and I just found it. It is a complaint from the Governor’s Office. Can you please look into this when feasible, and find out what you
can regarding this incident so we can address Ms. Bagwell’s concerns and any action that we need to take. I apologize for the delay in this, I will be contacting IT to figure out how to disable the clutter box function. Thanks for your help and assistance
on this.
Thanks, Mike
