Subject: Step up and protect clean water and wildlife

Feb 8, 2016

Governor Nikki Haley
Office of the Governor
1205 Pendleton Street
Columbia, SC 29201

Dear Governor Haley,

I expect you to do everything in your power to protect wildlife habitat
and clean water.

From attacks in Congress on the wildlife-friendly Clean Water Rule, to
recent decisions by state leaders allowing the release of toxic
wastewater into rivers, to agencies failing to protect watersheds from
contaminated run-off--America's waters have never been at greater
risk!

You have the tools you need in the Clean Water Act, Clean Water Rule
and other existing laws for protecting habitat and clean water.

I am calling on you to stand strong on behalf of wildlife and clean
water--and not give way to interests with ties to the agricultural and
fossil fuel industries that want basic clean water protections halted
or pushed aside.

Certainly the great blue heron is a recognizable symbol of coastal
South Carolina and birders "flock" from all parts of the
United States and even world wide to view our diverse bird population.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ms. Rhoda Anderson
