The Confederate flags are symbols of white supremacy.  Why should any state allow a flag or other symbols of hate to represent their state?  I am proud of my home state of Alabama for taking the flag down.    It is time for South Carolina to stand up to these bullies and take the flag down at least while the funerals are going on.  You can take it down to clean it.  You have the power to do that.  Governor, please do the right thing.
