Columbia, S. C. - Governor Jim Hodges today toured tornado damage in Myrtle Beach.
"It's very unusual to have a tornado touch down in Myrtle Beach. We are thankful that no one was killed," said Governor Hodges.
The Governor visited the Bar Harbor hotel. He noted that unaffected hotels throughout Myrtle Beach were still open for business.
"Only 150 out of 60,000 hotel rooms are affected," said Governor Hodges.
Governor Hodges has ordered his emergency management team to evaluate whether the damage qualifies for federal disaster area status.
