Gov. Sanford's Spokesman To Resign Next Month
Folks To Return To Private Sector
COLUMBIA --
Gov. Mark Sanford's press secretary, Will Folks, says he plans to
leave his post Aug. 1 to work in the private sector.
Folks said he will revive his political consulting company,
Viewpolitik.
Folks worked on Sanford's election campaign and briefly left the
transition team to establish the company in 2002. He ended up returning to
the governor's office.
He sent the governor a letter of resignation last week.
The 30-year-old Folks said he's looking for what he called a "less
intrusive chapter" for his life.
He had no previous political experience before he was hired by
Sanford.
Folks said he would like to be involved in Sanford's re-election
campaign through his new company. He also said he's working on a book.
