The boy was pronounced dead at St.
Francis Hospital a short time later.
Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten identified the boy as Dylan Fookes. There was no indication of physical abuse, sheriff's Capt. Dana Valentine said. "We don't know what happened to the baby," Valentine said. "Once the autopsy is complete, hopefully we'll have a lot more information." Those results could be released Thursday. Officials said Garvin and a teenage assistant cared for nine children at her home, all of whom were under four years of age. Officials said there is no evidence Garvin had any type of license or registration to run a daycare center and will not be allowed to reopen for the time being. --- Information from: The Post and Courier, http://www.charleston.net |
