I am sadden that the flag came down, but I respect what you did as the governor of the great State of South Carolina. My father was in the United States Air Force was stationed in Charleston. I went to high school in North Charleston, boot camp at Parris Island, from the USMC to becoming a North Charleston police officer, then becoming a Charleston police officer. I them became an Orange County Deputy Sheriff in Orlando Florida. I am now retired with 37.5 years in law enforcement. I just wanted to say thank you for being so professional on how you removed the flag. Please pass onto the South Carolina Highway Patrol command staff on how sharp their officer executed the removal of the flag and how sharp they looked in their dress uniforms. God bless South Carolina.
