Sanford's words lead Chinese execs to visit S.C.

TRADE

Two months after leading a trade delegation to China, S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford on Friday hosted 11 Chinese executives in Columbia. The Chinese delegation was already scheduled to visit Texas, Florida and Idaho. Their stop in Columbia was added after Sanford warned Chinese officials during his October trip that they risked trade sanctions if they did not improve their relations with the United States. Chinese firms invested $11 million in South Carolina, creating 40 new jobs, according to the state. -- CHARLES LUNAN

US Airways to offer meals by chef Wolfgang Puck

AIRLINES

US Airways will become the first carrier to sell meals from chef Wolfgang Puck, starting early next year with smoked turkey sandwiches and salad.

The $10 meals will be served during the first quarter on most domestic flights of at least 700 miles and on some Caribbean trips. The meals feature ingredients such as caramelized pecans, dried apples, Puck's dressings, coffee-fudge brownies and bottled spring water, the airline said.

US Airways began offering restaurant-quality meals on some flights in July under an agreement with LSG Sky Chefs. Puck, a classically trained French chef born in Austria, made his name in the United States in the 1980s with "gourmet" pizzas. -- BLOOMBERG NEWS
