We have had our car in storage in SC (my home state) for those 3 years. We have orders to PCS to Colorado Springs in August. I flew home a month early to visit family in SC. The problem I have is if I register the car here I will be charged taxes for the 3 years it's been in storage and not in use, costing us over $700. I asked if there was a way to get a temperature 30 day tag so I can drive my car and I was told no. 30 days tags can only be issued for a newly purchased car. Is there anyway around this? I cannot see spending over $700 in taxes to register the car so I can drive it for one month...especially since I will have to register it again when we get to Colorado. Is there anyway around this? Is there any kind of exception for military? I really need to be able to use my car while I am here. Thank you in advance for your support. V/r Tonya Parker Military Spouse
